Bfast : Chorizo/scrambled eggs/cheddar in 2 low carb tortillas

Lunch : Romaine salad with spinach, tomatoes, fresh cucumbers, and tunafish

January 17th, 2011

Bfast/Lunch : I made top round steak, pan fried with spices, some fresh spinach drizzled with olive oil and a dash of cheese (just to the point of wilting) and  a mahi-mahi fillet. I grazed on this for “breakfast” and lunch. (approx 4pm and 9pm).

Dinner : Low sodium chicken broth – spinach egg drop soup

January 16th, 2011

Breakfast : Was running late for work, so I did Jack in the Box Hearty Bowl , and had them hold the hash brown sticks and white cheese cream sauce. So essentially eggs, sausage, cheese.

Lunch : ginger teriyaki pork stir fry

Drinks : Low carb Monster, 1 diet grape soda, working on killing 40 oz of water.

Breakfast : Scrambled eggs (3) with sausage/cheese, and jalopenos. Cup of Earl Grey tea w/ Splenda and a splash of half & half.

Lunch : 4 pieces pan fried catfish (in olive oil – no bread coating just blackened seasoning) in an okra gumbo.

Dinner : 3 pcs bacon + 3 fried eggs + sliced cucumbers. Its 3am, so breakfast food just feels appropriate.

Drinks : Low Carb Monster (addicted to these<–, Diet Fresca and Diet grape soda). Note to self : Need more water tomorrow.

Hey the South Beach Diet is way (waaay) better than the Adkins! I’m glad you switched. My doctor and parents are all big advocates (not to mention the American Heart Association)!

I am going to try to find a way to follow your blog on my blog (RSS feed of some sort?) I’m keeping a weight loss blog too, as I follow the “Four Hour Body” diet/book. We can keep each other motivated! :)

The challenge in switching to South Beach over Atkins (especially after doing Atkins for so many years) is where the Atkins is rather strictly regimented and you know exactly what you can and can’t eat, South Beach doesn’t have that.

Pros : you’re not basing your diet off a in/out of ketosis model. Its not a “oh God I screwed up I must binge for 3 days before I jump back on the wagon”.

Cons : Weight loss is slower, you have to put a lot more thought into what you eat, and what you can/can’t eat isnt so readily available just from reading the labels.

But I’ll find a way to make it work. Just not giving up bacon.
